A unique relic of technology in the Świętokrzyskie region
The historic metallurgical complex , including a rolling mill and a nail plant, has an over 200-year tradition. It is located in Maleniec over the Czarna (Black) River, 24 km west from Końskie. The collection of industrial machinery from 1836 is set in the natural landscape of a Świętokrzyskie village. Initially, it included rolling mills, as well as, 11 and 4 big machines for making nails from metal plates. In the late 19th C., due to a modernisation process, the plant gained also the equipment for the production of spades and shovels.

Among the elements, which have been preserved till today, the most remarkable are: the production cycle of rolling metal plates which were later used for making household equipment; the halls of the rolling mill, nail and spade plants from 1839; as well as other unique machinery. Every year in July, during a tourist and technological festival “Kuźnice Koneckie” (The Ironworks of Końskie), one can watch this old machinery working.
Maleniec is an attraction for all amateurs of technological relics. So much has changed since they have been in use…
